Camera – Sony A7R III
We have upgraded to this mirrorless camera in the beginning of 2021 and are really happy with this decision. It is lightweight (perfect for traveling) and has an incredible quality for both photos and videos. This camera shoots in 42 megapixels and can capture 4k video. It’s definitely the best investment we’ve made in 2021. This camera is a perfect choice for professional photography and if you are looking to take your pictures to the next level. I seriously cannot recommend this camera enough!
Tip #1: I recommend to buy extra Sony batteries for your camera for long shooting days.
Tip #2: Make sure to clean your camera and lenses from time to time. We always bring a small camera cleaning kit with us on all of our travels

Before investing in the Sony A7R III, I used a Canon EOS 750D for many years. For me, it was the perfect choice when I just started my photography journey because it’s a great semi-professional camera for a reasonable price. I also really loved the colors of this camera. For my Canon I used 3 lenses: Canon EF-S 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 (allrounder), Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 (“nifty fifty” for portrait shots) and Canon 55-250mm F/4-5.6 (tele-zoom).
My MOST USED Lens – Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8
This is the perfect allrounder lens. If you only want to invest in one lens in the beginning, the Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 is the perfect choice. The zoom range is great for many different situations which makes it a versatile lens for traveling. It’s the lens I probably use the most.

My FAVORITE Lens – Sony FE 35mm F/1.8
This is my absolute favorite lens for crisp and clear photo and video content. The quality of this lens is insane! The low aperture creates an amazing bokeh (blurry background) and allows you to shoot even in extreme low light conditions. I just love this lens!

Telephoto Zoom lens – Sigma 100-400MM F/5-6.3
This is the perfect lens if you love wildlife photography or if you want to achieve a great compression effect in your pictures (meaning your background will appear larger). It is very lightweight and compact for an ultra-telephoto zoom lens and creates a beautiful bokeh.

Drone – DJI Mini 3 Pro
Since 2017, our baby and constant travel companion was a DJI Mavic Pro. It was the perfect drone for traveling and never let us down. However, after so many years it was time for an upgrade, so we recently bought the DJI Mini 3 Pro (with DJI RC) which is even smaller and lighter and has an amazing photo/video quality for its compact size. We also got the Fly More Kit which includes extra batteries (you will need them) and spare propellers. Our next addition will probably be the DJI Mavic 3.

Underwater Camera – GoPro Hero11 Black
GoPro is my go-to underwater camera for clear underwater pictures and videos! We have used a GoPro Hero7 Black for many years which really has an incredible quality (for an action camera) as well es a long-lasting battery. We just recently upgraded to the GoPro Hero11 Black and I can already say that the quality got even better, especially the video stabilization is insane! I’m amazed by this camera every time we enter the water.
Tip #1: Don’t forget to buy a spare GoPro battery. Click here to get a GoPro Hero7 Black battery or here to get a GoPro Hero10/11 Black battery.
Tip #2: If you are a diver like us, make sure to buy a GoPro housing for greater depths. Click here for our GoPro Hero7 Black housing and here for a GoPro Hero10/11 Black housing.

Dome Port – Telesin
A dome port is a must-have if you want to capture those “half and half” pictures where half of the photo is above water and half under water. I use a Telesin dome port for all of my split shots. The dome comes with a floating hand grip which I also attach to the GoPro when swimming/snorkeling without the dome port because it prevents the GoPro from sinking to the bottom of the ocean if you accidentally drop it.

iPhone 12 Pro Max
The camera quality of the iPhone 12 Pro Max seriously is insane. I use it for all of my Instagram Stories and Reels. The stabilization is almost as good as using a gimbal. It’s also a great option for taking pictures if you are not ready to invest in a professional camera yet. In fact, many creatives also use their iPhones for shooting content nowadays. My next upgrade will be an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Portable Charger – Charmast Power Bank
When you use your phone a lot, it’s always great to have a portable charger with you. After trying a few different power banks, we finally found a power bank that suits all our needs. It’s super slim, very quick and has a massive capacity. Perfect for travelling and long day trips!

Tripod – Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon
One of the most important travel accessories if you want to take pictures of yourself or couple photos! We never travel without our tripod. The Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 is perfect for traveling because it’s lightweight (but still heavy enough to hold our camera in windy conditions), compact and foldable. I can highly recommend this tripod!

Camera Backpack – BAGSMART
If you are looking for the perfect backpack to carry all your camera gear, I recommend the BAGSMART camera backpack. It is waterproof and customizable, has various compartments and pockets, and looks very stylish at the same time.

Small Flexible Tripod – Lammcou
I mainly use this small tripod for taking videos (Instagram Stories and Reels) with my phone. Due to the flexible legs, you can either use it as a normal tripod or attach it almost everywhere to capture any angle you like. I also attach it to my big Rollei tripod to film BTS (behind the scenes) or shoot at the same time with my camera and phone.

SD Cards – SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB & SanDisk Extreme Pro Micro SD 64 G
Having multiple SD cards is a must! The SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB is great for everyone who takes pictures in RAW or shoots video content. Previously, we used smaller 64 GB SD cards (which we now use as a backup in case our 128 GB SD cards are full) but I can highly recommend to go with more space and getting the 128 GB version for your camera.
For our drone and GoPro we currently use the SanDisk Extreme Pro Micro SD 64 GB.

External Hard Drive – WD My Passport 5 TB
Always (I mean ALWAYS) back up all your pictures and files! I’m sure you don’t want to lose them for any reason and it’s better to be safe than sorry. When traveling, I always use the WD My Passport 5 TB to back up new content right after shooting it. The WD My Passport 5 TB is also password protected so no one can access your precious files if you should lose it.

Laptop – Macbook Pro 2019 16’’
The Macbook Pro is perfect for photo and video editing. It’s powerful and super-fast. It might be a bit heavy for traveling compared to smaller models but for us it’s absolutely worth the extra weight.

Editing – My Presets
Once you’ve taken photos with your gear (no matter if you have used a professional camera, phone, GoPro or drone), it’s time to edit them. For editing, I use Adobe Lightroom. To make the editing process easier and quicker, I have created my own Lightroom presets (photo filters), which give my photos a consistent and aesthetic look.
